Clutch

Crazzzy weekend! Friday I went on a 4 hour dress hunt trying to find something acceptable for homecoming. My date asked me Wednesday night...SO I had very little time to prepare. I combed my city for something I knew no other girl would have. There is nothing more awkward than seeing another chick in the same dress as you at a dance. I ended up settling for a gold Bcbg number..pictures will surface eventually. Luckily my dress was one of a kind (a miracle because dances here are usually packed with bcbg.) I went to Baker's in search of some inappropriately tall shoes to limit the hight difference between me and my date, and i ended up finding a cute clutch! Lookie!

Love <3

This is the best lipstick I have ever used. The thing is, its not really a lipstick, not really a lip liner, and feels like chapstick (in a good way). It lasts forever, makes lip liner unnecessary, and the colors are gorgeous. My favorite color is called "exquisite". It creates a natural berry/plum sheer color. You can layer it to get a deeper color without the product becoming caked on. You can find stila products at sephora, sephora.com, and stilacosmetics.com.

Polkaa

Nothing can add pizazz to an outfit quite like printed stockings* can. I really want these polka-dot pantyhose by Balenciaga. My mom used to have a pair like this in the 80's. The shoes are adorable too, but I have a feeling the tights are a little more realistic considering I am no longer an employee at Abercrombie *tear*. No, i wasn't fired, I just decided to focus on school and getting into college instead of spritzing little boy cologne ever 1/2 hour and dealing with mothers often more annoying than their moody pre-teen children.

*Stockings, tights, pantyhose...are pantyhose and tights like a subcategory of stockings? Or are stockings the same thing as tights?? who knows....

Racy Lacy

Lace is all over the runway this fall/winter. I don't know about y'all but I'm stocking up. Be careful though! Yes, lace is sexy, mysertious, and romatic...but we want to keep in mind that it is see through and you can end up looking like a licentious lady. A word to the wise: layers. Freepeople.com has a less expensive option (the lace shirt below) . Forever21 has a large selection of lace too.

Tea Party

On a rather rainy Sunday last week, I threw tea party for a few of my friends! I fancied up my dining room with lots of pretty lace and porcelain. I'll eventually post my recipe for deviled eggs, salmon finger sandwiches, and my bestie Camille's brie en crute for those of you planning a soiree and in need of tips. Here are some pictures of the end result! I didn't get any shots before the party...everyone was much too hungry and I was busy being a good hostess.

The Sartorialist

Scott Schuman, better known as The Sartorialist, has come out with his first book! Its a collection of his street fashion photography with minimal text and clean aesthetic (not to mention portable size). I bought it today for myself as a little treat. I highly recommend checking out his site if you are unfamiliar with it. The minute details he captures are truly breathtaking.

Sandals that I didn't buy and are now out of season....True Story

I lusted over these sandals all summer long...so lucky for me I managed to resist them, because now I have money to spend on furs and whatnot for the winter! The green sandals are by Chole while the brown sandals are by Surface2Air. The first picture was take by the lovely Garance Dore.

New Header

You've probably noticed that new nifty pic at the top of my blog...snazzy isn't it? It was taken by the beautiful MJS. If you're a local, she does senior pictures and the like, so hit her up! I've mentioned her before, so if you go back a few posts, you'll see some more info on her wonderful photography.

Cha-Cha Ooh lala

I'm totally digging this dress from ShopCuffs. Its called the cha-cha-cha dress. It would go nicely with the YSL tribute sandals..my all time fave.

Albania, Serbia, Croatia

The Balkan States are hot this year! Get down with Southestern Euro style this fall. John Galliano showed a very Balkan inspired winter/fall 09 collection. Athropologie has a less expensive and more wearable option. The Elimovna Coat. Don't you just want it!?

Brian Atwood Lola suede pumps. Damn.

nom d' boom

Blooming tea is my most recent and delightful discovery! I remember first seeing it in Sofia Coppola's "Marie Antoinette" when Marie Antoinette's brother comes to visit her and she shows him her new tea from china. Its a tiny little bud or bundle of leaves that bloom once you place them in your tea pot! I visited a wonderful store called Teavana where I bought a few bundles or as my dad calls them "acorns" of the peach momotaro tea. I really wanted a glass teapot to be able to see my pretty tea while it blooms but the teapot at Teavana was pretty pricey so I hit up target and got myself a less expensive version. Target does carry blooming tea right next to the teapots but its pretty icky. I say stick to the more expensive stuff if you want to enjoy tasty blossoms.

Cropped perfection

This jacket by Steven Alan would be perfect for back to school. I want I want! You can find it on Net-a-Porter. The military style buttons are adorable and I'm a sucker for a nice cropped jacket.
