Petite Bohemian
In case I didn't mention this: I'm going to bonnaroo with my girlie Colleen! Super-duper excited! Expect the odd post here and there about bonnaroo packing...starting with this post. I've been coveting the House of Harlow 1960 headbands by Nicole Richie...but they are like 300$ so I scoped out a cheaper version by Raven Eve Jewlery at Etsy.

This little piggy came home..with me!
I want a little pet pig! The only downside is, they don't stay little...the "teacup" variety can be 75-100 lbs although most breeders advertise them as being 25-50 lbs.Craziness! I wish I could just get a piglet that stayed a piglet...but then again if I had my way kittens would stay kittens and puppies would stay puppies.

Summertime and the Living is Easy
Seeing as I'm about to drown under the amount of work my teachers are piling on me these LAST 8 DAYS of high school EVER, I haven't been able to devote nearly enough time to my summer wardrobe. I could barely scrounge two outfits for spring break...I just wore the same shorts for the whole trip. I did manage to snag this cute straw fedora for 2$ from target (ignore the lame picture..I was getting a little silly on that long car ride). Its really great for just getting your face out of the sun for a bit on the beach. I mean, yes there is a 20% chance you'll look a little toolish but honestly, there are very few beach hats that don't. Same goes for sunglasses. p.s. Like the nail polish?
My Favoritest Outfit
Jane Aldridge of Sea of Shoes has had some great fashion moments but I have to say this is my most favorite look of hers. Its almost uncharacteristically simple and feminine but I'm in love with it. I've been looking for a lace bodysuit like the one she is wearing but can't seem to find one that is satisfactory. Its the little scoop back that I'm looking for! It really does make the top perfection. She got hers from forever21 but it's long since discontinued. Urban Outfitters and American Apparel have some likely candidates but I haven't found THE one.

Timshel
In English class yesterday, we were discussing literary tattoos. I think if I were to get one right now it would probably be just like the one pictured: Timshel. It's a Hebrew word meaning "Thou mayest". It's significance is explained in the book East of Eden by John Steinbeck. What would you get? If you had to pick.

Still to Be Neat- Ben Johnson
Still to be neat, still to be dressed,
As you were going to a feast;
Still to be powdered, still perfumed:
Lady, it is to be presumed,
Though art's hid causes are not found,
All is not sweet, all is not sound.
Give me a look, give me a face
That makes simplicity a grace;
Robes losely flowing, hair as free:
Such sweet neglect more taketh me
Than all the adulteries of art;
They strike mine eyes but not my heart.
Newer favorite poem!

Bright star, would I were steadfast as thou art —
Not in lone splendour hung aloft the night
And watching, with eternal lids apart,
Like Nature's patient, sleepless Eremite,
The moving waters at their priestlike task
Of pure ablution round earth's human shores,
Or gazing on the new soft-fallen mask
Of snow upon the mountains and the moors —
No — yet still stedfast, still unchangeable,
Pillow'd upon my fair love's ripening breast,
To feel for ever its soft fall and swell,
Awake for ever in a sweet unrest,
Still, still to hear her tender-taken breath,
And so live ever — or else swoon to death.
-John Keats
Favorite poem right now. I studied it in Lit class earlier this year, and I was so excited to find out that a movie was being made about John Keats' life! It's called Bright Star and it made me cry for hours. It *needs* to be watched.

Bleached Eyebrows
I'm having a weird moment with bleached eyebrows...I'm half-tempted to just take the plunge and just get mine dyed. But honestly, I can't even walk out of the house in harem pants. So much for being industrious. Except industrious means busy...industrious should mean brave, because I'm not...brave, that is. Come to think of it, I'm not really industrious either. Whatever, bleached eyebrows are probably going to stay one of those "glad I didn't do it" things.

UnderOver
A really cool look from JakandJill. I'm a little obsessed with bras like this..I'm not sure what their technical name is because I've seen them referred to as corsets and balconettes. Its whateva, but you can get one like the bra pictured at TopShop or GillyHicks.

WILDERNESS
Little known fact- I love wearing Old Spice and other boyish smelling products. Well known fact- I enjoy being a wilderwoman and wildering. Extra tidbit- I've traveled around Switzerland quite a lot and the Matterhorn is my favorite hiking spot ever. Greatest invention on earth- Old Spice Fresh Collection (Matterhorn scent): smells like ice, wind, and freedom. The weird part is, it actually smells really fresh and feminine. Does antiperspirant get any better than this? I think not my friends. I think not.
Inspiration: Gingham
I fell in love with the Christopher Kane Spring 2010 ready to wear collection! So I hunted down a few gingham looks inspired by his collection- all American with a little bit of edge....and much more affordable than Mr.Kane's collection.

Lipgloss should now be called LipAWESOME
So I made a trip to Sephora today to stock up on some summer make up and I found possibly the most perfect lip gloss in the universe. IN THE UNIVERSE. Smashbox o-gloss. It claims to adjust to your bodys natural chemistry and turn into a color that is best suited for you. I dont know if I buy that shit. I don't even care about the how, all I know is that it is lippy perfection. So here I am, wondering around and dorkily trying on every product in sight when I get to the smashbox section. I glance around, not impressed. A pink bottle catches my eyes. Now, let me be honest here people, I wasn't cosmically drawn to this lipgloss...I tried it on because the matching cheek stain is called O-glow. I'm also the girl who giggles every time I put on my NARS blush in orgasm. I'm really mature. Anyways, I swipe on the lipgloss and it goes on clear then all of a sudden magic happens. It turns that perfect beautiful color. You know the one I'm talking about. Its the "I just made out for three hours now my lips are all red and pouty and damn, I look good" color. In a bottle, no boys required. How AMAZING is that? You know whats NOT amazing? Hm?? I'll tell you. The fact that this .34 oz tube costs 22$. So I couldn't buy it. Pretty tragic. To cherish the limited time I had with my lippy lover I vowed to not drink anything all night so that my lips would stay perfect but leftover Chinese food beckoned. I guess I'll just have to get that color the old fashioned way....eh, it might be worth the 22$ for the bottle after all.

Yea bike.
While I'm on the subject of dresses I can't afford, check out this little lovely from Anthropologie. I want to ride this dress to class in the winter with my yellow tights and red mittens. I want to picnic in this dress with a giant sunhat. I want to be in this dress. I mean that in the least creepy way. If you can't tell from these last two posts, I might be delirious. Delirously in love with these dresses.
Oh god, that was terrible. Luckily, its waffle cone Wednesday at TCBY. I'll be revived in due time.

Too much to do!
Senior year has gotten crazy. Sooo many ceremonies and pointless shit mixed in with my complete indifference to doing...well, anything = terrible. I have about 5 new dresses I need to buy for my random senior duties and I can't even bring myself to online shop. So far I've only purchased one and it was my project. It' s BCBG...which means I made a half-assed attempt to look different and failed miserably. At my school, wear BCBG and expect half the senior class to show up in the same dress. Regardless, I need another formal gown but in white for "honors convocation". My dream dress (after another half-assed search) is the Morgan gown by Priscilla of Boston....the same designer of my debutante dress. I'm actually most likely going to wear my debutante dress again. Is that a major faux-pas? Or maybe a little jcrew bridal number. Or BCBG just to show the amount of effort I'm putting into this. I feel like this post is a giant load of fashion-blasphemy. Shun the non-believer?
