Leicester!

Told ya I'd make a post on Les very very soon. Leicester Mitchell is a friend of mine who takes some stunning photographs. I'll just let them speak for themselves. Flickr.  Psst....he is the dude with the dreads.

...familiar? I promise I wash my clothes..

Riches to rags....then maybe back to riches.

I've been m.i.a. for the past two weeks since I came home from England. I managed to not upload a single picture from our stay in Scotland. When I came home I had some pretty cool news waiting for me. I got a modeling job for a local boutique called Noelie Harmon. It's a super cute vintage/eco-friendly store and a guy friend of mine (who is also modeling) got me the job! I'm soo excited for the shoot! It got pushed to the 15th of august because of tropical storm bonnie's little trip over Louisiana during the originally scheduled day. So what the hell are those glamour shots above, you ask? Welllll, Colleen and I got to model for a local screen printing company called Giraphic Prints. They have a clothing line called Giraphic Apparel and they needed some last minute photos for their wholesale catalogue. Coincidentally, the company is the creation of Colleen's older brother Danny who also happens to be my partner in crime this summer. The shoot was more of a "helping out a friend" thing rather than a "model model" thing.  The pictures were taken of Colleen, Danny, and Me by our good friend Leicester Mitchell for the catalogue. He is an amazingggg photographer..I'm gonna do a follow up post on him very very soon... The pictures above are a the results of the quickie shoot. We had about an hour notice before it happened and we were all dragged down to the local abandoned pier on the levee. It was also 103 degrees outside with the sun beating down full force. Hence us looking a little bit wilted. What can you do, right? The shirts are cute though.

Visiting Winston Churchill's house...manor..castle.

What Ive been wearing...for the past few days!

Mom took this while we were catching a spot of tea before exploring the grounds at the new hotel. The countryside gave me some much needed escape from busy London.

We arrived in Upper Slaughter the other day! I couldn't update because I had limited wireless at the hotel...which you can see looming behind me.

There wasn't much to do in Upper Slaughter so I visited the stables and met a very nice horse. I named him Toast. It was pretty hot out there but a little better than in London. However, the temperature dropped quite a lot today as we drove into bath.

what im wearing today

Breaking out my new Topshop skirt today. I think I'm going to break out the heels today, screw functionality. If in going to be dragged through ghost-infested rank dungeons, I'll be wearing what I want. Like the house behind me? Its where Chopin was chilling before he played his very last concert. Its a few doors down from our adorable hotel. Big day planned today. First stop is Westminster Abbey, then to the tower of london, and finally shopping for some legit wellington boots. The next place we are traveling to is very rural and there wont be much to do except muck around in wellies. I'm hoping they'll have bikes to rent so I can make trips into town and hit up some bars. Drinking age is 18 here and apparently my parents are very ok with this. I'm not complaining. So far I've yet to make it out of a dinner without at least three glasses of wine and a gin and tonic. Know what's not fun? Having a bedtime whilst drunk.  Oh well, what can you do?

Topshop

I didn't think there was a place more scary than forever 21 to shop...there is. Topshop. Take forever 21, multiply it by 3 then stack that on top of each other four times. My brain almost exploded. I was lucky I had my mom with me and she kept her cool. I came home with some cool purchases...a bralette, floral skirt, cropped top, nubby sweater. The usual. I can't believe how many incomplete outfits I brought with me! I have four skirts with only one top for all of them. I tried to find some staple items at Topshop but I got way too distracted. I was so close to blowing all of my money on a very hardcore looking leather jacket...I'm talking Fonzie style leather jacket. My dad ended up talking me out of it. Will it be my big regret? Hope not!

what im wearing today

Ignore the unpleasant expression on my face...my mom was briefing the fam on the itinerary and had just forced me to change out of my heels in favor of the cowboy boots. The skirt is chambray and from American Apparel. Its a little disgusting how much I probably over paid for it. The boots are vintage and one of my favorite items to wear in the winter. Im not too sure how they are going to take the London summer. Today I have a big day planned ahead...Grace Kelly clothing exhibit at the Albert and Victoria museum, lunch at Nobu, and serious shopping at Harrod's. Im getting excited just thinking about it!

edit: Looks like Nobu is full...or my dad can't work the online reservations. It's anybody's guess.
edit edit: Cuter picture!
